While he might not be considered a “tall” wide receiver, LSU product Odell Beckham Jr. certainly makes up for his lack of height with a great vertical jump.
Recently, Beckham showed off his dunking skills at his old high school, Isidore Newman in New Orleans, and posted a video of it to his Instagram account.
Beckham, who measured in at the 2014 NFL Scouting Combine at just over 5’11”, posted a 38.5 inch vertical jump while in Indianapolis and many have him pegged as the third or fourth-best wide receiver in this year’s draft class.
The Pittsburgh Steelers certainly appear to be interested in Beckham as they took him out for dinner the night before his Pro Day last month.
In his latest mock draft, ESPN draftnik Mel Kiper Jr. has the Steelers selecting Beckham with the 15th overall selection in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft. In my latest Steelers mock draft, I also have Beckham as the Steelers first-round pick.
During his college career, Beckham registered 143 catches for 2,340 yards and 12 touchdowns, but it is unknown what his field goal and foul shot percentages were. The Steelers charity basketball team might want to research those numbers just in case.
