According to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, San Diego Chargers unrestricted free agent defensive lineman Cam Thomas will visit with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Friday.
At 6’04”, 330 pounds, Thomas has played well at times at nose tackle for the Chargers since being drafted in the fifth round of the 2010 NFL Draft out of North Carolina. Last year, however, he was benched midway through the season and replaced in the starting lineup by Sean Lissemore.
Should the Steelers wind up signing Thomas, Steve McLendon would more than likely be moved out to defensive end.
The Steelers have already lost Ziggy Hood and Al Woods during the free agency signing period and they need to start replacing them.
