The Pittsburgh Steelers have added another free agent wide receiver to their offseason roster as former Mount Union wide receiver Jasper Collins has signed a reserve/futures contract.
Collins was originally signed by the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent last year but wound up being waived injured with an undisclosed injury at the end of July. After reverting back to the Dolphins injured reserve list after clearing waivers, Collins was ultimately released with an injury settlement.
Collins was then signed to the practice squad of the Cleveland Browns, but that stay didn’t last long as he was released less than two weeks later.
During his final season at Mount Union, Collins registered 92 catches for 1,694 yards with 22 touchdowns. He measured in at his Pro day last year at 5’10 and weighed 180 pounds. He also reportedly ran a sub 4.5 forty yard dash.
