With both defensive end Brett Keisel and nose tackle Steve McLendon sidelined by injuries for the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday night game against the Cincinnati Bengals, undrafted rookie free agent defensive end Brian Arnfelt will dress for the game.
So how many snaps can we expect the Northwestern product to play? I think the answer to that question depends entirely on the health of defensive end Ziggy Hood and whether or not the Steelers defense allows any long drives during the game. My initial thought is to say that he will perhaps see around five to seven snaps worth of playing time, but if Hood has problems with his ankle, or any other member of the defensive line sustains an injury, that number of course will increase.
Arnfelt saw the field quite a bit for the Steelers during the preseason with most of his 146 snaps coming on the right side. Overall he played well against the run and he managed to record two hurries during his late-game action.
Should Arnfelt indeed see considerable playing time Sunday night, we will of course break down his snaps next week.
