Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin updated the injury status of the team on Tuesday during his weekly press conference as they prepare to play the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday night at Heinz Field.
According to Tomlin, tackle Kelvin Beachum (knee) has an opportunity to play this week, but he will probably be limited in practice early on in the week. The same goes for defensive end Brett Keisel (foot), who had an extended workout on Monday as he attempts to come back from his foot sprain. Tomlin said he that he will be watched closely.
Tomlin expects no steps backwards this week from guard David DeCastro (foot), nose tackle Steve McLendon (ankle) and linebacker LaMarr Woodley (calf) as far as their injuries go, however, they could all be limited early in the week as far as practice goes. Defensive end Ziggy Hood (ankle) was able to return to the game and finish on Sunday, but that might limit him early on in the week as well.
Wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery (shoulder) suffered a shoulder contusion on Sunday and like the others, he too could be limited early in the week.
“From a health standpoint, we anticipate having most, if not all of our guys, available,” said Tomlin.
