Pittsburgh Steelers starting left tackle Kelvin Beachum injured a knee late in the Thursday night loss to the Baltimore Ravens and while he still has several days to recover for the Sunday game against the Miami Dolphins, the injury still appears to be hampering on Monday.
According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Beachum was spotted limping heavily through the parking lot as the rest of the team practiced on Monday.
If Beachum is unable to play Sunday against the Dolphins, Mike Adams would likely be the next man up. However, Adams suffered an ankle injury after replacing Beachum in the game Thursday night and his status is currently unknown.
Should Adams not be ready to go, the Steelers would have the option of flipping right tackle Marcus Gilbert over to the left side or let Guy Whimper take a spin on the blind side of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Whimper played the final few snaps there against the Ravens.
The Steelers signed free agent tackle Rashad Butler to the roster on Saturday, but it was announced on Monday that he has left the team due to personal reasons.
Head coach Mike Tomlin is scheduled to hold his weekly press conference on Tuesday and hopefully he will shed a little more light on the injury situation.
