This is the time of year when teams are likely to poach players off of the practice squads of others and it happened to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Wednesday.
According to the official NFL transaction report, the Chicago Bears have signed tackle Joe Long to their 53 man roster off of the Steelers practice squad.
Long has been on the Steelers practice squad since late last season. He was in training camp this year with the team and played in three preseason games.
The Steelers now have an opening on their practice squad, but it is unknown if they will fill it this week or wait until next week.
