For the seventh time in his career Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu has been named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week for his play in the Week 12 win over the Cleveland Browns.
Polamalu recorded two forced fumbles, four total tackles, a sack and a defensed pass in the Steelers 27-11 win. One of the two fumbles he forced he also recovered and that one led to a field goal right before halftime.
In the second half, Polamalu strip sacked Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden and the ball was recovered by defensive end Cameron Heyward.
The last time Polamalu won this award was following the 2011 Week 17 win over the Browns.
