According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, “it sounds like” Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders will be “OK” after leaving Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions with a right foot injury.
Sanders, who has had problems with his feet in the past, did not return to the game and afterwards head coach Mike Tomlin said during his post game press conference that the SMU product would be further evaluated.
As a result of Sanders’ injury, rookie wide receiver Markus Wheaton saw more playing time and ended the game with three catches for 38 yards.
Hopefully Rapoport’s source is not the same one that told him quarterback Ben Roethlisberger would ask the Steelers to explore trading him after the season. In other words, take this report with a grain of salt right now.
Tomlin is expected to update the status of Sanders on Tuesday during his weekly press conference.
