The Pittsburgh Steelers made a roster move on Monday and it included them releasing running back Isaac Redman.
Redman, who was originally signed by the Steelers as an undrafted free agent in 2009, had been inactive for the last three games after being demoted all the way down to the bottom of the depth chart.
Redman signed a $1.323 million restricted tender during the offseason and fell out of favor quickly after playing poorly in the season opener against the Tennessee Titans.
During his career in Pittsburgh, Redman rushed for 1,136 yards on 282 carries for five touchdowns in 47 regular-season games.
The Steelers filled Redman’s spot on the 53 man roster by promoting linebacker Kion Wilson from the practice squad.
Come to find out, Redman’s restricted tender contract was not guaranteed.
