The Minnesota Vikings will be without two starters in their secondary Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers and that figures to bode well for quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and his wide receivers as a result.
With cornerback Chris Cook and safety Jamarca Sanford both inactive for the game, Tom Pelissero of USA Today reports that cornerback Marcus Sherels and safety Andrew Sendejo will start today.
Sherels, who has played all of 66 snaps so far this season, was targeted 18 times last week in the Vikings loss to the Cleveland Browns and allowed nine catches for 50 yards.
Sendejo has only played 24 snaps so far this season, all of which came last week against the Browns.
Should the Steelers be able to get their running game on track early, expect Roethlisberger to attack Sherels quite a bit and it could result in another big game for wide receiver Antonio Brown.
