With Shaun Suisham now fully recovered from the hamstring strain that he suffered during pre game warm-ups prior to the season opener against the Tennessee Titans, the Pittsburgh Steelers released veteran kicker Shayne Graham on Tuesday.
Graham, who was signed last Monday as insurance, was one of the seven inactive players Monday night in the 20-10 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
To fill the open spot on the 53 man roster, the Steelers promoted cornerback Isaiah Green from the practice squad.
Green’s promotion could be an early sign that starting cornerback Cortez Allen won’t be ready to play Sunday night when the Steelers host the 2-0 Chicago Bears at Heinz Field. Allen injured an ankle during the loss to the Titans and did not play Monday night as a result.
The Steelers now have a spot on their practice squad to fill and that will be done by Wednesday.
