The 2013 NFL season is finally here and it kicks off tonight with the Denver Broncos hosting the Baltimore Ravens on NBC.
As I do every year, below are my record and playoff predictions for the 2013 season.
As you can see, I give the Dallas Cowboys a lot more respect this season than most. I also am not as high on the Washington Redskins as others are. While I think the Seattle Seahawks will have a few bumps along the way, their defense just can’t be ignored. I think that they will make the playoffs as the final Wild Card team over the Atlanta Falcons and make it all the way to the Super Bowl from that spot just like the Pittsburgh Steelers did several years ago.
In the AFC, the Denver Broncos look to be a very tough team in 2013 and they will likely be able to coast in several of their games. The Houston Texans defense should only be better this season, but I see them losing in the championship game to the Broncos when all is said and done. As for the Cincinnati Bengals, they should make the playoffs once again, but until their quarterback can prove that he can play in a big game, I don’t see them making it very far.
As far as the also-rans go, I really don’t see the Baltimore Ravens being a force this year due to all of their losses via retirement and free agency. If they win 11 or more games this year, they will deserve a lot of respect.
The New York Jets will be lucky to win five games this year and I have them winning just two. I also don’t expect things to go well for the Philadelphia Eagles, Jacksonville Jaguars or the Oakland Raiders this season, but I’m really not telling you something that you don’t already know.
