Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin was asked if he had an update on injured tight end Matt Spaeth following the loss to the New York Giants in the preseason opener and he admitted he has had his surgery.
“I do not,” said Tomlin. “I know that he got his surgery performed. We\’ve talked about potential timetables of his return, but I haven\’t been privy to that in the last 24 hours, because I\’ve been solely focused on the game. I\’ll get that update tomorrow and will be able to provide some information for you the next time we sit down.”
It was reported on Friday that Spaeth had suffered a Lisfranc sprain and would be out 8-10 weeks.
