The chest injury suffered by Pittsburgh Steelers rookie linebacker Jarvis Jones Saturday night in the preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs landed him in the hospital for one night, but it appears as though he won’t miss much time and the first-round draft pick gave the local media an update of status Monday.
According to Mike Prisuta of DVE Radio, Jones said he landed on the football when he was tackled after hauling in a deflected pass for an interception and that he had the air knocked out of him. Jones also added that he has a bruised chest and that he is day-to-day right now, but will be fine.
This is certainly great news and while Jones might be held out of the preseason finale Thursday night against the Carolina Panthers, he should be ready to go for the season opener against the Tennessee Titans.
