Last Friday, the Pittsburgh Steelers traded outside linebacker Adrian Robinson to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for running back Felix Jones. Now, just one week later, Robinson has been released by the Eagles.
Robinson is out of practice squad eligibility so he very well might have a hard time latching on with another team if the Steelers decide they don’t want him back. Being as they were willing to deal him in the first place, I doubt he returns.
As for the Steelers side of the trade, Jones has impressed head coach Mike Tomlin during his one week in Pittsburgh. Following the Thursday night game against the Carolina Panthers, Tomlin said the former first-round draft pick of the Dallas Cowboys certainly helped his cause in the two games that he has played in.
Will Jones make the final 53 man roster? We will know the answer to that question by Saturday evening.
In addition to waiving Robinson, the Eagles also released former Steelers quarterback Dennis Dixon as well.
