A few days ago, Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported four of the five starters on the Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line as wearing knee braces early in practice with right tackle Mike Adams being the lone lineman not wearing them.
On Wednesday morning, Kaboly reports via Twitter that head coach Mike Tomlin has mandated that all his offensive linemen wear the constricting apparatuses. Kaboly doesn\’t get into specifics as to why this mandate has come down from the Steelers head coach, so we can only speculate that it\’s a preventive measure more than it is anything else.
Center Maurkice Pouncey reportedly isn\’t a fan of wearing the braces, but it appears as though he better get used to them, at least in the early portions of practice.
We all know about the issues the offensive line has had over the years in regard to staying healthy and with the depth on the line being a big question mark right now, they can ill afford to lose any of their starters for an extended amount of time due to a knee injury.
