Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert said a few weeks ago that he hoped rookie wide receiver Marcus Wheaton would be able to make the mandatory mini camp next month after being forced to sit out all of the OTA sessions due to Oregon State being on the quarters system, but it doesn\’t look like that\’s going to happen.
Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports Thursday on Twitter that he\’s confirmed the Steelers third-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft will not be permitted to attend.
Oregon State has their finals listed as taking place on June 10–14 while the Steelers mini camp takes place that same week.
Wheaton will have to catch up when he gets to training camp and wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery said on Wednesday that they will help him do just that.
