The Pittsburgh Steelers will continue their hosting of pre draft visitors on Monday as Bob Labriola reports on Twitter that Syracuse safety Shamarko Thomas, Utah State cornerback Will Davis and San Diego State guard Nic Embernate are in town.
Thomas, who measured in at the NFL combine at 5087 and 213 pounds, is a strong safety who registered 263 total tackles, 2 interceptions and 4 forced fumbles in 48 games at Syracuse. The safety has a linebacker build who plays well in the box.
Davis, who measured in at the combine at 5112 and 186 pounds, recorded 99 tackles in 26 games while at Utah State. During his agility test he posted a 4.43 in the 40-yard dash, 1.50 10-yard dash, 2.51 20-yard dash, 4.02 20-yard shuttle, 6.52 three-cone drill, 35 ½-inch vertical jump, 10’7” broad jump and bench pressed 225 pounds 16 times. Due to his size, Davis might be seen as a 3-4 nickel prospect by the Steelers.
Embernate, a 6036, 304 pound guard prospect, did not receive a combine invite. He started 44 games at right guard at San Diego State and only missed one start in his career came after suffering a concussion.
