Tony Pauline reports Thursday via Twitter that Connecticut linebacker Sio Moore is having a pre draft visit with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Moore measured in at the combine at 6006, 245 pounds and had a great showing. He posted a 4.65 in the 40-yard dash, 1.61 10-yard dash, 2.59 20-yard dash, 4.31 20-yard shuttle, 7.49 three-cone drill, 38-inch vertical jump, 10’7” broad jump and bench pressed 225 pounds 29 times.
Moore played all over the place at Connecticut and could possibly play both inside or outside linebacker in the Steelers 3-4 defense. If he plays outside, he will have to work on his ability to set the edge against the run. If he plays inside, he will need to work on his recognition. He uses his long arms well wherever he lines up and moves well in space. He is hard player to project a spot for being as he lined up everywhere in college, including the slot.
In 37 games, Moore recorded 16 sacks, 268 total tackles, 18 pass breakups, 4 forced fumbles and 4 interceptions. He also was credited with 43 tackles for loss.
Moore is projected to go as high as the second round and as low as the early fourth.
