Season 3, Episode 74 of The Terrible Podcast is up and co-host David Todd and I get busy talking about the current salary cap situation of the Pittsburgh Steelers as they inch closer towards the start of the new league year. We talk about the Rule of 51, the cap credits due the Steelers in 2013 and also how the cap is expected to remain flat through the 2014 season. This talk leads to more discussion about ways to keep Willie Colon and James Harrison. Would both take a salary reduction to stay in 2013? We also talk about restructures and what it means to future years.
There are a few nuggets of Steelers news to talk about so David and I discuss CFL lineman Jovan Olafioye, who reportedly is getting a lot of interest from teams this offseason. We also talk about the New York Giants releasing running back Ahmad Bradshaw on Wednesday and whether or not the Steelers would have any interest in him. Speaking of running backs, what type of contract will Rashard Mendenhall end up with this offseason? We talk about that and also discuss the health of Ike Taylor, who resumed his training down in Florida on Monday as well as linebacker LaMarr Woodley, who says he will train out in Arizona this offseason.
A few other talking points are of course mixed in throughout the show.
