Bengals Win Over Eagles Means Nothing To The Steelers

The Cincinnati Bengals beat the Philadelphia Eagles 34-13 Thursday night which now puts them a half a game ahead of the Pittsburgh Steelers heading into the weekend.

Several do not like to hear it, but the Steelers game Sunday game against the Dallas Cowboys is not a must win even though the Bengals won Thursday night. It is if the Steelers want to have any chance of winning the AFC North, but to make the playoffs, they will have to beat Bengals and then the Cleveland Browns. Sure, a win Sunday in Dallas would definitely not hurt and it would put a ton of pressure on the Ravens as well should the lose Sunday at home against the Denver Broncos.

Despite their big win Thursday night the Bengals didn\’t look overly impressive on offense. All off their points came off of turnovers as they didn\’t drive for any score after receiving a punt or a kickoff. Quarterback Any Dalton was a putrid 13-of-27 for 127 yards and was sacked 6 times in the game.

The Bengals may have also lost fullback Chris Pressley for the season to a knee injury.

Yes, the Bengals won a game they should have won and they won it big, but now they will prepare to travel to Pittsburgh to face the Steelers in a winner-take-all type game. If their offense plays like it did Thursday night, you have to like the Steelers chances.
