Season 3, Episode 44 of The Terrible Podcast is up and co-host David Todd and I get you the breaking news that came across the wire as we started the show that Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed has been suspended without pay for one game for repeated violations of the rule prohibiting hits to the head and neck area of defenseless players. His latest volition came Sunday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers when he hit wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders helmet-to-helmet while he was in a defenseless position.
Luckily Sanders was not injured on the hit, but several other Steelers players were in the game. We go over the list that includes Byron Leftwich, Ziggy Hood, Baron Batch, and Jerricho Cotchery and talk about some roster moves that are likely to be coming soon. The Steelers will undoubtedly sign a quarterback this week and we discuss the choices out there to serve now as the backup to Charlie Batch.
There is of course a loss to the Ravens that we need to discuss and that gets quite a bit of our time as usual. We have several bad play calls and clock management issues to discuss and we talk about who played well in the loss and who didn\’t. We update the AFC playoff picture as it stands right now and mix in several other Steeler related talking points along the way.
