The Pittsburgh Steelers made a roster move on Saturday, and as expected, offensive lineman John Malecki was signed off of the practice squad and defensive end Corbin Bryant was released to make room for him.
Malecki can play both center and guard and he originally signed with the Steelers in August of 2011. The University of Pittsburgh product has been on the Steelers practice squad all season after being on it for parts of 2011 as well.
The move means that Malecki will dress Sunday night against Cincinnati Bengals and he will serve as the emergency center and swing guard behind Doug Legursky.
Bryant had been signed to the 53 man roster on Tuesday when nose tackle Alameda Ta\’amu was place on the suspended list. Bryant had been with the team all through training camp and the preseason prior to his release just before the season started.
