The Pittsburgh Steelers were off on Tuesday, but returned to the practice field on Wednesday to continue their preparations for the season opener Sunday night against the Denver Broncos.
The first Steelers injury participation report for the 2012 season has now been released and it shows running back Baron Batch (groin) and linebacker James Harrison (knee) as being limited. Harrison says that he won\’t discuss his status until Friday. Batch injured his groin in the preseason finale.
Linebacker Larry Foote (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday, but word is he will work on Thursday as Foote said he just had the day off.
Participating fully on Wednesday were, running back Rashard Mendenhall (knee), running back Isaac Redman (ankle) defensive end Brett Keisel (ankle) and linebacker Jason Worilds (wrist).
Guard David DeCastro (knee) and linebacker Stevenson Sylvester (knee) have long been ruled out for Sunday night. Safety Ryan Clark has also been ruled out for Sunday night due to his sickle cell trait.
For the Broncos on Wednesday, starting guard Chris Kuper (forearm) did not practice and has already been ruled out for the game.
