Final cuts from around the league have been trickling in all afternoon and one that caught my eye was the release of former Pittsburgh Steelers 5th round draft pick, cornerback Crezdon Butler by the Arizona Cardinals.
The Steelers drafted Butler in 2010, but he never received any playing time on defense during his rookie season as he was relegated to special teams duty when he was not on the inactive list.
Butlers was back at training camp with the Steelers last year, but was released in the final round of cuts. The Cardinals claimed Butler off waivers where he was reunited with former Steelers defensive backs coach Ray Horton, who had been hired away from the Steelers to be the new defensive coordinator in Arizona.
Butler ended up suffering a dislocated ankle in practice shortly after signing with the Cardinals, which ultimately led to him being placed on injured reserve.
