According to a report by the Associated Press, Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Larry Foote claims that he is the victim of a scheme to defraud him out of more than $400,000.
Foote\’s lawyer reportedly filed a lawsuit on Thursday in a Wayne County Circuit Court claiming that he was duped into investing money with the two defendants associated with a Dearborn Heights valet service in Michigan. Foote was reportedly approached in 2010 by one of the defendants, who told him that he had recently acquired major valet parking contracts and needed an investor to provide capital.
Foote is slated to be the Steelers starting BUCK inside linebacker this year alongside Lawrence Timmons following the release of James Farrior this past offseason. He was originally drafted by the Steelers in the fourth round of the 2002 NFL Draft out of Michigan. After seven years in Pittsburgh he was released following the 2008 season and signed a one year deal to play for the Detroit Lions. The Steelers signed him back in 2010 to a 3-year, $9.3 million contract.
