Season 2, Episode 74 of The Terrible Podcast is up and David Todd and get the Super Bowl preview show started by addressing a few reader emails to start off with. Next David and I run down the list of finalist again for the Pro Football Hall of Fame and give our final predictions on who we think will be in the class of 2012 when it is announced Saturday. Do we think former Steelers Dermontti Dawson, Jerome Bettis, Kevin Greene and Jack Butler get in? You might be surprised on our thoughts.
We move on from that discussion to start breaking down and previewing Super Bowl XLVI. We look at what the New England Patriots and New York Giants both need to do in order to win the game and both agree that the health status of Rob Gronkowski will play a big part in what the Patriots do on offense. Will the Gronkle be ready by the time the Super Bowl starts? We gave our predictions for the game and both think that the game goes under points wise, but are on the opposite side of the fence on who we think will win.
43:47 mark – We close this episode with my interview I did on Thursday with new Steelers safety Myron Rolle. Myron, as many know, is a Rhodes Scholar, who sat out his senior season at Florida State to attend Oxford overseas. He made it back in time for the Senior Bowl and the NFL combine and was ultimately drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the 6th round of the 2010 draft. Rolle spent his rookie season on the Titans practice squad and we discuss that, his workouts with the great Tom Shaw down in Florida and everything leading up to him signing with the Steelers just this last week. I get his thoughts on head injuries in the NFL as Myron has talked in the past about becoming a neurosurgeon. I ask him why even consider playing football with the bright future he has ahead of him because of his studies. It really is a great interview and being that a Myron is a big Frank Sinatra fan, I get him to sing a few bars of a Sinatra song to close out the interview.
