What a way to close a horrible regular season as I went 11-5 straight up in the week 17 games and 12-4 against the spread. Where has that been all season? Through 17 weeks I am now 156-101 straight up and a dismal 113-145 against the spread. I had a great 2010 playoffs, so let\’s hope I am picking up steam at the right time. Houston Texans 23 Cincinnati Bengals 16, 4:30 p.m. Texans -4
The Texans have the better pass defense and the better running game. They get it done at home with a big game by Arian Foster.
New Orleans Saints 34 Detroit Lions 31, 8:00 p.m. Lions +10½
The Superdome is a tough place to place in the playoffs and the Saints will likely jump out to a big lead. Once the Lions calm down they will move the ball and score, but will fall short at the end.
New York Giants 27 Atlanta Falcons 23, 1:00 p.m. Giants -3
Falcons are good at home, but a different team on the road. The Giants pass rush will be the difference in this game near the end as they advance.
Pittsburgh Steelers 31 Denver Broncos 10, 4:30 p.m. Steelers -8½
The Steelers spread out the Broncos and masterfully mix run and pass. Tim Tebow will be forced to throw and that will cause a turnover or two. Steelers in an easy one.
