Season 2, Episode 58 of The Terrible Podcast is up and David Todd and I get right into the Pittsburgh Steelers 20-3 loss Monday night at Candlestick Park to the San Francisco 49ers. David was at the game so we start with his experience at being in the stadium during the power outages.
We quickly turn our attention to recapping the game and discuss the decision of head coach Mike Tomlin to start injured quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, and we also give our thoughts on him leaving Ben in the entire game. We recap some key points in the first half before getting into the clock management, or lack thereof, during the Steelers last first half possession. This is not the first time we have talked about Tomlin and the clock if you listen to the podcast regularly.
We move along to the second half and talk about the big plays we think changed the game like the punt by 49ers punter Andy Lee, the Keenan Lewis penalty for interference on the punt returner and the leaping penalty called on Lawrence Timmons.
We cover the Tomlin Tuesday press conference, update the injury situation and wonder if the Steelers have any hope of improving from their #5 seed with just two weeks left in the regular season.
We discuss some players that shined Tuesday night, not many, and players that had a rough night in addition. Nearly an hour long talk all about the game.
