Season 2, Episode 36 of The Terrible Podcast is up and Nick Richetta joins me again on the podcast as my co-host David Todd is trapped in an airport tonight on his way back to Pittsburgh.
We open the preview of the New England Patriots game with a look at the injury report and whether or not it matters if Hines Ward sits down this week with his ankle injury. We both agree that if he does, that Emmanuel Sanders and Antonio Brown should be able to pick up the slack along with Jerricho Cotchery. Ben Roethlisberger and Bruce Arians probably have not been able to sleep all week thinking about the Patriots poor pass defense.
We move right into the preview of the game and look at both sides of the ball as far as the Steelers are concerned in this game. There is no doubt that they should be able to throw against the Patriots, but will they be able to slow down Tom Brady, Wes Welker and Rob Gronkowski on the flip side? We give our thoughts on what we would do if we were Dick LeBeau. Thankfully we are not as the defense will have their hands full this week. We talk about how the Steelers need to stay out of their base defense as much as possible and who matches up with who when the Steelers are in the dime this week. Could we see Cortez Allen or even Bryant McFadden this week as a 6th defensive back? We discuss that too.
After some good preview banter we go around the NFL games this week and make our picks against the spread. We end by picking the Steelers Patriots game and predict the score. Were we able to take off our black and gold homer glasses for this? Do the Steelers really have a shot to win this? Tune in and find out.
