Season 2, Episode 3 of The Terrible Podcast is up and day 3 of Steelers training camp is in the books now. I am joined by Mark Kaboly from the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review who had the epic Plaxico Burress watch going on Twitter today as he gave a play-by-play of the Burress visit. Make sure you are following him at @MarkKaboly_Trib. We talk about the Burress visit and the chances of him signing with the Steelers to get the interview off to a fast start. I ask Mark if he thinks the offseason foot surgeries that Emmanuel Sanders had is behind the interest in Burress. We talk about the Steelers salary cap situation and the possibility that we could see a few surprise cuts and possibly an extension or two. I ask Mark who has stuck out so far in the day and a half of on field work and who looks lost thus far. We talk about how Baron Batch might have a great shot at the 3rd down role right now with no other true 3rd down backs in camp. We end by discussing the visit of Daniel Graham today and Mark rubs it in that Mean Joe Greene just walked right past him. Mark is a great interview and we look to have him on next week to get more of his insight on the Steelers.
In the second half of the podcast I talk to Maury Brown of the Business of Sports Network and we get into some questions about how the salary cap works in the new CBA. If you are a junior capologist like I am, you might gain some insight from our discussion. Maury promises to clarify some of the unknown issues like the post lockout dead money accounting as soon it becomes more clear on his blog as well.
