The lockout is still in place, but it does not prevent the rookie players from trying to put a little money in their pocket prior to signing their first NFL contract. Shawn Smith, the Public Relations and Marketing Directing for XAM Sports, reported this morning that Steelers rookie cornerback Cortez Allen has agreed to terms on an endorsement deal with Nike. No further information has been released of what the deal actually involves.
Allen was drafted 128th overall by the Steelers in the 4th round of the 2011 NFL draft after playing his college ball at the Citadel, where he started 28 of 39 games for the Bulldogs. He resides in Ocala, Florida where he played his high school ball at North Marion High School.
Congratulations to Cortez on his new endorsement and make sure to follow him on Twitter @Cortez_Allen.
