The Steelers began week 14 practice preparations on Wednesday for the Sunday home game against the Cincinnati Bengals. WR Hines Ward (not injury related), S Troy Polamalu (ankle), T Flozell Adams (ankle), TE Heath Miller (concussion) and DE Aaron Smith (triceps) all sat out on Wednesday. Smith of course will be out again this Sunday, while Miller and Adams are likely doubtful to play as well. Ward and Polamalu will be good to go on Sunday. RB Isaac Redman (ankle) was limited on Wednesday. QB Ben Roethlisberger was not listed at all on the Wednesday report. He is recovering from nose surgery earlier this week.
For the Bengals on Wednesday, TE Jermaine Gresham (not injury related), CB Johnathan Joseph (ankle), G Nate Livings (ankle) and RB Bernard Scott (illness) all sat out practice. Limited on Wednesday were WR Terrell Owens (knee) and DT Pat Sims (knee). CB Brandon Ghee was placed on injured reserve with a groin injury on Wednesday and rookie LB Vincent Rey was promoted from the practice squad to take his place on the 53 man roster.
