Gerry Dulac reports that unless Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin today who will back-up Ben Roethlisberger at quarterback, it may very well remain a mystery until game day. My money is on Charlie Batch right now as he has earned it and Byron Leftwich could use the extra time to continue to rehab that knee.

Back-up nose tackle Chris Hoke returned to practice Monday after injuring his knee against Tampa Bay and missing the last two weeks of practice. Right guard Trai Essex also returned to practice in a limited capacity after missing a few weeks with a sprained ankle. Essex likely has lost the starting job to Doug Legursky during his down time.

I saw this over the weekend but forgot to post it Monday. Congressman Tom Rooney, the nephew of Dan Rooney, said the Steelers indeed shopped Ben Roethlisberger but were unable to find any takers. He was not excited about the return of Roethlisberger to the team after his rocky offseason.
