Report: Dennis Dixon Has Torn Left Knee Meniscus

According to PFT and ESPN 1250 Ken Laird, the MRI on the left knee of Steelers quarterback Dennis Dixon revealed a a tear in the lateral meniscus. This is the same knee Dixon tore the ACL in while in college at Oregon. Reportedly Dixon wants to get a second opinion on Tuesday and weigh his options. He is expected to be out at least 3 weeks. Regardless he will be out this Sunday against Tampa Bay and that leaves only Charlie Batch and Byron Leftwich as the only quarterbacks on the roster. Leftwich was re-signed on Monday after being released on Saturday because of a needed roster spot. Leftwich practiced last week and may be ready to start Sunday in Tampa. The Steelers were also scheduled to bring in Levi Brown for a visit this week.
