As expected, the Steelers signed cornerback and 5th round draft pick Crezdon Butler to three-year contract that totals out at just over $1.334 million dollars including a $119,000 signing bonus and breaks down base wise as follows: 2010: $320,000, 2011: $405,000 and 2012: $490,000. Butler was the second of three 5th round draft picks the Steelers had and the 164th player taken overall in the 2010 NFL draft. At Clemson, Butler received playing time in all 13 games as a freshman, and then became a starter as a sophomore and never gave up his starting spot. He was an honorable mention all-ACC honoree in 2009 as Clemson finished sixth in the NCAA in pass defense. He started the final 40 games of his career and finished his career with 11 interceptions. The signing of Butler leaves only 1st round offensive lineman Maurkice Pouncey and 2nd round linebacker Jason Worilds as the two Steelers draft picks who have yet to sign a contract.
