Steelers HC Mike Tomlin said Tuesday during his weekly press conference said that running back Willie Parker is slated to practice starting Wednesday on a limited basis. Safety Troy Polamalu suffered a slight concussion on Sunday and test have been favorable. Polamalu is slated to practice this week. At this time Tomlin expects him to be able to play Sunday. Tackle Marvel Smith is coming along with his back problems and his status is still up in the air. Wide receiver Dallas Baker, fullback Carey Davis and nose tackle Casey Hampton are all scheduled to practice this week and are hopeful to be ready this week. Linebacker Keyaron Fox is not close to returning and his status will likely be doubtful this week. Cornerback Bryant McFadden had a plate put in is arm on Monday and will indeed be out a while.
Parker will be the starter if healthy and running back Mewelde Moore will still get his looks and is considered the teams third down back. Moore\’s playing time will depend on the flow of the game.
Tomlin called wide receiver Hines Ward hit Sunday on Bengals linebacker Keith Rivers a clean hit and scoffed at reports otherwise. Ward has yet to be fined for the hit. Ward will have his normal day off from practice on Wednesday.
Tomin is unlikely make a roster move to add another defensive back.
