The University of Houston is holding their annual pro day on Thursday and as expected, Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert and head coach Mike Tomlin are present for it as they look to get another first-hand look at cornerback William Jackson III, who figures to be one of the top-five at his position heading into the 2016 NFL Draft. Steelers defensive backs coach Carnell Lake is also in attendance.
According to Mark Berman on Twiiter, Colbert and Tomlin both had dinner with Jackson Wednesday night.
According to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, Jackson measured in at 6011, 186-pounds on Thursday and that’s quite amusing being as a month ago he was listed at 6003, 189-pounds at the 2016 NFL Scouting Combine.
While it’s still unclear as to whether or not Jackson will run again on Thursday after posting a time of 4.37 seconds in the 40-yard dash while in Indianapolis, he is expected to do several other of the timed drills that he chose not to do at the combine.
This past week at the league’s owner meetings in Boca Raton, Florida, Colbert let it be know that he would be at Houston’s pro day as the team continues to closely monitor all of the top-rated cornerbacks in this year’s draft class.
As Jackson’s Thursday results start to surface, I will update this post with the information.
