Antonio Brown has had quite the year since demanding a trade out of Pittsburgh about a year ago. Many bridges were burned over the last year, including bridges to the franchises of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Oakland Raiders and New England Patriots. Now it seems that Brown is attempting to repair at least one bridge with the Steelers and their quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.
The former Steelers’ receiver took to Instagram early this morning and apologized to Roethlisberger for his actions over the last little while, stating that he did not realize how good he had it.
“Mostly you a little bit of me ! Yee yee !! I never realized how good I had it, got caught up in my emotion with everyone coming after me I really apologize for my actions sincerely man ! It’s never been another connection like what we done in the past decade. I appreciate you. Sincerely AB”
Brown and Roethlisberger enjoyed a tremendous on field relationship through their nine years together in Pittsburgh. The talented receiver recorded 837 receptions for 11,207 yards and 74 touchdowns during his nine year tenure in the black and gold. This also included a six-year stretch in which Brown posted over 100 receptions and 1200 receiving yards.
While their relationship started strong, it came to a rocky end during the conclusion of the 2018 season. This involved Brown going AWOL during the build up to a critical week 17 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals and numerous shots at his former quarterback on Twitter in the months following.
While he has been out of football since September due to his numerous off field issues, it now seems that Brown is attempting to get back on track and return to the NFL for 2020. His recent apologies are just the start of that and it will be interesting to see how this saga continues to unfold.
