The Pittsburgh Steelers have made a Monday afternoon roster move, promoting WR Amara Darboh from the practice squad. They released WR Tevin Jones from their 53 man roster in a corresponding move.
Jones caught four passes for 61 yards in five games with Pittsburgh. He played 31 snaps in Sunday’s loss to Buffalo, failing to catch a pass but recovering a Diontae Johnson fumble.
Darboh was signed to the practice squad on November 18th. A 3rd round pick of the Seattle Seahawks in the 2017 draft, he caught eight passes as a rookie but hasn’t appeared in a game since. He will wear #82 for the Steelers.
Jones is still practice squad eligible and may circle back to the ten man taxi squad assuming he clears waivers.
