The Pittsburgh Steelers have now released their second official injury report of Week 13 ahead of their Sunday home game against the Cleveland Browns and the Thursday Thanksgiving Day offering includes few changes from the one released by the team on Wednesday.
Not practicing again on Thursday for the Steelers was wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster (concussion/knee) and it appears as though he is headed toward not playing again on Sunday against the Browns.
Smith-Schuster suffered his knee injury in the first half of the Steelers Week 11 road loss to the Browns and during the same play he suffered a concussion on. He was, however, cleared by an independent neurological consultant on Wednesday and is no longer in concussion protocol, according to the team.
After failing to practice on Wednesday, cornerback Artie Burns (knee) and running back James Conner (shoulder) are both listed as being limited practice participants on Thursday. Conner is currently still not expected to play Sunday against the Browns and it will be interesting to see if Burns can return this weekend. Friday will be key for both players.
Conner aggravated his shoulder injury in the Week 11 game in Cleveland and he all but ruled himself out for the Sunday game against the Browns during a Monday radio show interview. Burns also suffered his knee injury during the Steelers road loss to the Browns and he was limited in practice two days last week before ending the week listed as doubtful on the injury report.
Steelers tackle Alejandro Villanueva (shoulder) practiced fully on Thursday after being listed as a limited participant on Wednesday. He seemingly suffered his shoulder injury in the third quarter of the Sunday game against the Bengals while attempting to make a cut block.
Steelers guard Ramon Foster (not injury related) sat out the team’s Thursday practice. He should return to practice fully on Friday.
