Kevin Colbert isn’t done making moves yet. The Pittsburgh Steelers are set to acquire TE Nick Vannett from the Seattle Sehawks, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The Steelers are in dire need of help at the position considering Xavier Grimble’s struggles, Zach Gentry’s youth, and Vance McDonald’s shoulder injury that appears to keep him out of at least this week’s contest against Cincinnati.
Vannett, listed at 6’6 261, has caught four passes for 38 yards this season. He had one catch for 13 yards against Pittsburgh in Week 2. Last year, he caught 29 balls for 269 yards and three touchdowns.
His one catch against the Steelers was a big one, a 13 yard pickup on 3rd and 10 that led to a Will Dissly TD the very next play.
UPDATE (9:35 PM): The Steelers are sending a 2020 5th round pick for Vannett.
