2019 Elite 8 Weekend: Steelers Friday Night Five Questions

Steelers Depot Friday Night Five Questions

Happy Friday to all of yinz and welcome to the final few days of March. It’s hard to believe that a quarter of 2019 is now gone. That, however, now means that the 2019 NFL Draft is a mere four weeks away.

The 2019 pro days are beginning to wind down and that means we can look forward to the Pittsburgh Steelers annual hosting of pre-draft visitors in April. A few of the players who will go to Pittsburgh for pre-draft visits are seemingly already known and a few names on that short list aren’t overly surprising. We’ll make sure to stay on top of the final pro days and pre-draft visitors as soon as there is news to pass along. The draft will be here before we know it and that’s an exciting part of the offseason.

It’s a great weekend to be an overall sports fan as not only is March Madness continuing on, but the Pittsburgh Pirates also opened their 2019 season on Thursday. The Pittsburgh Penguins will also play the Nashville Predators Friday night and you can bet I will be watching that game.

March is going to be an all-time record traffic month for the site and we would like to thank each and every one of you for helping us achieve that. We hope yinz have enjoyed all of the offseason and pre-draft content to date. I am blessed to have so many great site contributors now and certainly don’t take them for granted.

As usual, below is your weekly set of five Friday night questions and a few of them came from Twitter followers. I look forward to reading yinz answers to each of them in the comments below the post. the great David O. is traveling today so he was unable to get his weekly Friday Five Recap done. He should be back at it again next Friday.

Have a super and blessed weekend.

Peace and love, peace and love!

1 – To date, the six players listed below are scheduled to be brought in by the Steelers for pre-draft visits. Please rank these alphabetically listed players below from most to least desired by yourself.

Ben Banogu – OLB – TCU
Miles Boykin – WR – Notre Dame
Andy Isabella – WR – UMass
Charles Omenihu – DL – Texas
Darnell Savage Jr. – S – Maryland
Mike Weber – RB – Ohio State

2 – Florida EDGE Jachai Polite has had a horrible pre-draft process to date and as you can see in the video interview from his pro day below, it looks like it has taken a toll of him with four weeks still left to go. At this point, would you bypass Polite completely if you’re the Steelers, and if not, what round should he be strongly considered by the team if they have not already selected another edge rusher?

3 – With the Steelers signing of cornerback Steven Nelson in free agency, what’s the earliest round you’d draft a corner this year? (question courtesy of @Alex_Kozora)

4 – Teryl Austin seems to be the Steelers’ Swiss Army coach of sorts. Where do you think his impact will be felt most throughout the season? On defense in the secondary, or game management/challenges during the games? (question courtesy of Twitter follower @Dee_M_G3)

5 – What are you willing to see the Steelers give up 2019 draft pick wise to move from No. 20 to No. 10 to get either LSU linebacker Devin White or Michigan linebacker Devin Bush. (question courtesy of Twitter follower @GeoBfield)
