The next big event on the calendar for the Pittsburgh Steelers now that the 2018 NFL Draft is over is the team’s annual rookie minicamp.
On Monday, the Steelers announced that this year’s rookie minicamp will take place on May 11-13 at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex. As usual, the team’s draft picks, rookie undrafted free agents, and several tryout invites, along with select first-year players who qualify, will take part in the three day rookie minicamp.
The Steelers 2018 draft class includes safety Terrell Edmunds, wide receiver James Washington, quarterback Mason Rudolph, tackle Chukwuma Okorafor, safety Marcus Allen, running back Jaylen Samuels and defensive tackle Joshua Frazier. The team also came to terms with undrafted free agents defensive tackle Parker Cothren, running back Jarvion Franklin, defensive end Greg Gilmore, wide receiver Quadree Henderson, cornerback Trey Johnson, tight end Pharoah McKever, center Patrick Morris, offensive lineman Ikenna Nwokeji, outside linebacker Olasunkanmi Adeniyi, guard Chris Schleuger, cornerback Jamar Summers, inside linebacker Matthew Thomas, and defensive end Kendal Vickers after the 2018 NFL Draft concluded.
Last year the Steelers rookie minicamp roster included approximately 50 players so the team will certainly have a lot of tryout players and first-year players already under contrast in attendance for this year’s event as well.
After their rookie minicamp concludes, the Steelers OTA practices will begin this year on May 22.
