The Pittsburgh Steelers have now signed another one of their eight draft picks as the team reports Wednesday afternoon that seventh-round outside linebacker Keion Adams is now under contract.
Adams’ four-year rookie contract is currently expected to total at around $2,466,028 and include a signing bonus in the neighborhood of $66,028, according to Over the Cap. The exact full details related to Adams’ contract should be known very soon.
The Steelers drafted Adams 248th overall out of Western Michigan where he registered 126 total tackles, 14.5 sacks and five forced fumbles. He started 29 total games at Western Michigan and will now battle for a depth roster spot during the remainder of the offseason and into training camp.
Adams and the rest of the Steelers draft picks and undrafted free agents will be among several players who will take part in the team’s annual rookie minicamp this coming weekend in Pittsburgh.
As of Wednesday, the Steelers have two of their eight draft picks signed to contracts as fifth-round selection cornerback Brian Allen signed his rookie deal on Monday.
