10 days ago it was reported that the Pittsburgh Steelers were planning to bring Connecticut defensive back Obi Melifonwu in for a pre-draft visit and so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the team reportedly had somebody present to watch him go through the paces at his Wednesday pro day, according to Kevin Duffy of masslive.com.
After an impressive scouting performance that included him registering a 40-yard dash time of 4.40 seconds in addition to a vertical jump of 44 inches and a broad jump of 11’9″, Melifonwu recorded a very impressive short shuttle time of 4.09 seconds on Wednesday at his pro day. He also posted a 3-cone time of 7.05 seconds, which isn’t bad at all being as he measured in at Indianapolis at 6037, 224-pounds.
Melifonwu also reportedly did safety and cornerback drills on Wednesday, according to Eric Edholm of Yahoo Sports.
