The Pittsburgh Steelers have now released their Friday injury report ahead of their Sunday road Divisional Playoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs and it shows that only one player has been ruled out for that contest.
Ruled out on Friday by the Steelers for their game against the Chiefs was linebacker Anthony Chickillo (ankle), who missed the team’s Wild Card game as well with his ankle injury.
As for tight end Ladarius Green (concussion), he ends the week listed as doubtful after failing to practice again on Friday. This will be the fourth consecutive game that Green will likely miss as the tight end still hasn’t been able to overcome the concussion that he suffered in the Steelers Week 15 game against the Cincinatti Bengals. With Green likely sidelined once again, tight end Xavier Grimble is once again expected to dress in his place.
Ending the week listed as questionable for the Steelers are defensive end Ricardo Mathews (ankle) and running back Fitzgerald Toussaint (concussion). Both players practiced on a limited basis Friday after sitting out on Wednesday and Thursday.
Mathews missed the Steelers Wild Card game with his ankle injury while Toussaint suffered his concussion at some point during that game. If Toussaint isn’t able to play Sunday against the Chiefs, cornerback Justin Gilbert is expected to assume his role as one of the two deep players on the Steelers kickoff return unit.
Removed from the Steelers final injury report on Friday after practicing fully were linebacker Vince Williams (shoulder), safety Sean Davis (shoulder), safety Robert Golden (ankle), defensive end Stephon Tuitt (ankle), linebacker Bud Dupree (shin) and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (foot). Golden is looking to return after missing the Steelers last two games with an ankle injury.
