Some great news to kickoff this playoff weekend. Stephon Tuitt says he anticipates playing this week, per the PPG’s Ray Fittipaldo.
Tuitt missed the last two full weeks of the regular season, and most of the third-to-last, due to a knee sprain. The Pittsburgh Steelers run defense was gashed in the finale versus the Cleveland Browns, allowing 231 yards rushing, the second most the franchise has ever given up in a win.
The Miami Dolphins have a strong run game and the Steelers have first hand knowledge of that when Jay Ajayi ran for over 200 yards in their first meeting. It’s no shock that someone like Tuitt, who did play in that game, still feels salty.
Mike Tomlin will have the first official injury report out tomorrow and should provide further update. But it all sounds good on the injury front for Tuitt and by extension, some great news for the Steelers’ chances of getting their revenge.
Tuitt closed out the season with four sacks and two forced fumbles in 14 starts.
