The Pittsburgh Steelers continued preparations Thursday to play the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday at Heinz Field and their daily injury report includes a few changes from the one they released Wednesday.
Not practicing again on Thursday were center Maurkice Pouncey (thumb), wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey (foot), running back DeAngelo Williams (knee) and safety Jordan Dangerfield (groin). Of those four players, it’s looking like Pouncey might ultimately be the only one who will play Sunday against the Cowboys as he indicated as much Thursday morning.
Heyward-Bey and Dangerfield both suffered their injuries in Sunday’s loss to the Baltimore while Williams has had an issue with one of his knees for several weeks now.
Added to the Steelers injury report on Thursday was wide receiver Markus Wheaton (shoulder) and that is concerning being as he’s already missed several games so far this season with a shoulder injury. With Heyward-Bey likely to miss Sunday’s game, hopefully Wheaton will be able to rebound and practice on Friday.
After being listed as limited on Wednesday, wide receiver Sammie Coates (finger) practiced fully on Thursday and that certainly is great news. Also practicing fully on Thursday was quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (knee). That makes two days in a row that he’s now practiced fully.
